Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest is located within what is arguably the most famous forest in England.
It became a Royal hunting forest subject to strict laws to protect timber and game. The most famous outlaw to break these laws was of course Robin Hood.Around the Park you can spot props used in the film ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’.
We are committed to conserving thiswonderful natural environment. For instance, over the last 15 years we have planted a new mixed woodlandthat now forms our dog walk.
The woodland comprisessilver birch, oak, yew, pine and willow with rhododendron. The woods give shelter toan abundance of small animals and birds. You may spot birds of prey including buzzards, owls, bats, squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs and badgers.
